Not certain what type of flower this is, although I think it might be in the heliconia family. Cool how you can see the internal structure thanks to the backlighting. Found at the National Botanical Gardens, which is found just southwest of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. Taken 3 Oct 2008.
